What I like about my work

I enjoy working with as part of a team with great clients on a wide variety of projects, many of which are at the cutting edge of environmental issues. Many of the projects I am involved with are located regionally, which enables me to visit the site with the client and team of consultants to understand what is to be achieved, and see the project be developed right through to completion. The feeling of helping create something for use by the community (and myself) is very satisfying.

What I've done in the past

I come from a sporting background, having spent 4 years training with the New Zealand Rowing team and attending University in the United States on a sports scholarship. Upon returning to New Zealand in 2003 I went back to university and studied law.

I worked as a contractor for Telecom's Acquisition team whilst completing my law degree, and in 2006 joined the Queenstown office of Anderson Lloyd where I have been ever since.

My approach to working with my clients

I like to form positive relationships with my clients and get to know how their business operates. This enables better communication and understanding of what their end goals and outcomes are.

What I enjoy at work

I enjoy the great team atmosphere we have at Anderson Lloyd, and the fact that we are exposed to some cutting edge developments and resource management issues.

I feel privileged to work with such a knowledgeable group of experts. Our team is really well-versed and everyone shares their expertise and experiences to ensure the best possible outcomes for the client is achieved.

What I enjoy outside of work

I love to travel both locally and internationally, experiencing the great outdoors and meeting new people (particularly over a glass of Central Otago pinot).

I also enjoy being involved in the community through sports coaching and youth mentoring.

What I enjoy about living in the South Island

The fact that within 25 minutes of leaving the office I can be sitting on the chair lift, boating on the lake or mountain biking a remote track is amazing.

I love the "work life balance" that living and working in a town such as Queenstown provides, particularly the fact that I can have a high quality legal career without sacrificing my passions outside of work.
